Ella Detter Joins Stanford’s Class of 2025

NEW COMMIT: Stanford University has added yet another impressive verbal commitment for Fall 2025, this time from in-state standout Ella Detter of Los Altos, California.

She will join Alana Berlin, Addie RobillardElla Jablonski and Annam Olasewere on The Farm as a member of the Cardinal’s Class of 2029.






Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Stanford University! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me throughout this process! I am so grateful to Coach Greg and Coach Katie for giving me this amazing opportunity. I cannot wait to be a part of this incredible team!”

Detter does her club swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and most recently earned three best times at Juniors West. She had a great showing at Far Westerns last spring, taking third in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 53.61
  • 200 fly – 2:00.26
  • 50 free – 23.56
  • 100 free – 51.47
  • 200 IM – 2:07.64

Currently a junior at Castilleja School, Detter placed fifth in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 free at the 2023 CIF State Championships. She raced to third and fourth, respectively, in those events at the Central Coast Section Championship.

Her older sister, Olivia Detter, has committed to swim at Northwestern beginning in Fall 2024.
